Intermediate Solar team progress 4/20/16

At the moment, the intermediate solar team is on time in terms of fabrication with a new design. In the previous semester, we wanted to utilized the Miasole's solar panels that was generously donated to us. Through a discussion with the team and Prof. Furman, our team decided to go with a different approach and came up with a new design for the solar mounts to power the Spartan Superway. For the new design, we are going to use roughly 15 solar panels that was also donated to the Spartan Superway by a different company. The solar panels are much smaller and is overall better for the intermediate scale. The cost is relatively lower to make for the new design. Our team plans to create 5 modules, which consists of 15 solar panels mounted onto a modular trapezoidal base for easy transport to the Maker's Faire. Below is a picture on our new design for Presentation 2 of Spring 2016:

Today, we will be discussing plans to finish up the fabrication of the solar mounts and attending the showcase for our project in the student union at SJSU from 4pm - 6pm.
